I have the latest driver downloaded direct from Realtek. I've also tried it without the laptop attached to the docking station. I do have a sound card showing up in device manager, the headphones are plugged in properly, I've tried both the jack on the laptop as well as the jack on the docking station the laptop is plugged into.
I've tried uninstalling it, but that hasn't made any difference as of yet. They all work however when I reboot into 8. I've tried multiple pairs of headphones, none of them work. Have you tried with other headphones? Does it work? Have you made any changes to the audio settings prior to the issue? I never get any errors when installing any of the driver files, everything appears to be working correctly, except no sound will come out of my headphones. I don't have the option to roll back the driver. I've tried updating the driver software from the device manager, I've manually downloaded the latest Realtek driver. In the volume slider window I see the bar moving up and down with the audio. If I choose speaker out then sound still comes out of the internal speakers, and only the speakers, if I choose headphones then no sound comes out of anywhere. When I plug in headphones, I get the popup window asking if I've plugged in headphones or a speaker out, no matter which I choose, nothing comes out of the headphones that are plugged in.
